    Universal Wellness New Developments

    Happy New Year Everyone!

It's been over 6 months now that I've been telling you about our move to Florida and we are still in California.  Our house fell out of escrow and we are looking for another buyer.  Those are only the symptoms of why we haven't moved yet.  I learned something many years ago from a fabulous success and business Coach of mine, Carole Billingham.  After each request or intention I send out to the Universe I add, "….. or something better".  Another thing I would often add is, "if it is for my highest and best good."  More recently from my mentor, Bijan Anjomi, I add, "…if this brings me peace and joy."  For now I simply need to trust that things will happen in the best time and enjoy living in each and every moment.  Do I do that all the time? Not hardly but I am in that state way more often than I used to be through practice and surrounding myself with supportive people.

How about you?  Do you make a lot of resolutions in the New Year and watch them fall by the wayside as the year progresses?  What is you had your very own Cheerleader, Jiminy Cricket, Guide, Wellness Expert and Coach supporting you each week?  Might you have more satisfying results?  If this sounds exciting, Universal Wellness Telephone Coaching could be for you!  Use it to make 2006 pack the powerful positive punch you dream of!  Also, check out Universal Wellness Transformational Relaxation via Phone to treat yourself to that occasional, well-deserved stress reduction and rejuvenation session.

How are your nutrition habits?  Are you eating all your fruits and vegetables your body needs for maintenance and repair?  I'm still helping folks with that utilizing the well-researched nutritional support system, Juice Plus.

"I've only been taking Juice Plus for about 2 months now and let me say the difference I have felt is in a renewed energy and a healthy feeling that helps me in life to take care of my daily business!
I normally eat vegetables and fruits on a regular basis but, have noticed in the last few years, that isn't my norm now. I sometimes don't take the time to eat the foods that are best for me and I love the most. A hectic schedule, not taking the time to shop or prepare the foods needed, whatever the excuse, with Juice Plus I know my body is receiving vital nutrients it needs to keep going, creating, making dreams come true! Juice Plus Helps!" Elvi M

    Professional Highlight
Monika Klein, B.S., C.N. Clinical Nutritionist and Lifestyle Coach

Well it's that time of year again - time to embrace those New Year's resolutions.  Often #1 on the top of most people's list is to get fit and trim.  Being a clinical nutritionist and weight loss expert many come to me at this time of year seeking guidance and support to achieve this goal.  I have been working in the field of health and clinical nutrition for over 16 years and have helped many lose in safe and effective way.  My programs are focused on healthy eating, regular exercise, stress management, proper sleep and taking high quality supplements - these are foundational to good health.

If you are feeling sluggish, clothes don't fit or your doctor strongly suggests you lose weight for various health reasons (ie high cholesterol or blood pressure ) its time to take a systematic approach to get your desired results.  The food aspect of any weight loss system should teach you how to choose proper food portions, focus on balancing quality proteins, un-refined carbohydrates and good fats. Also, its important to have 3 meals per day and 2 healthy snacks per day.

Learning how to shop for and prepare your meals is essential.  It is recommended to always choose the best and freshest ingredients available.  Remember the more vital the food - the more vital you are!  Occasionally it may be difficult to have control what's available like going to someone's house for dinner or traveling.  I recommend being as prepared as possible - pack some nuts or seeds, fresh fruit with cheese or carrots and hummus for a quick and nourishing snack. Overall planning and preparation are the keys to healthy living.  Best of health to you in 2006!

    Spotlight Exercise
    Michelle's Stick-'em-Up Stretch

This helps reduce tightness in the chest and shoulder area as well as improving shoulder range of motion.

Stand with back touching wall or smooth-surfaced door. Feet are approximately 10 inches away from the wall and comfortably apart.  Rear and shoulder blade areas touch the wall.  If possible without straining, place the back of your head on wall too.  Then raise arms as if to "stick-'em -up".  Make contact with entire backs of arms and hands if you can without pain. Some people will have to work up to this point gradually.  On the other hand, if that is easy for you….Maintain arm contact with wall and slowly move hands up toward the ceiling until straight or wrists and elbows can no longer touch wall.  Then slowly lower.  Repeat a few times if possible. Stop when you feel fatigued or are straining.

This is one time a "hold-up" will be greatly beneficial for you!
